Kaspiysk will host the best young weightlifters of the country

The Russian Weightlifting Championship among boys and girls will be held from March 24 to April 1 at the Ali Aliyev Sports and Youth Palace in Kaspiysk. The tournament will bring together more than 500 participants from different regions of the country, making it the largest start of the season in this age category.

Over the course of nine days, boys and girls in the age categories of 13-15 years and 13-17 years will compete for medals in 20 weight categories at the largest indoor sports complex in the North Caucasus.

A few years ago, the Weightlifting Federation of the Republic of Dagestan had a modest representation at national tournaments. Four-time Russian champion Ismail Hajibeyov, European Championship medalists Buvaysar Believ and Beybulat Nazirov, as well as a whole galaxy of national championship winners are currently in the regional team.

Said Abdulaev, President of the Dagestan Weightlifting Federation, spoke about how the region is preparing to receive guests.:

"For the first time in history, the All-Russian weightlifting competitions of this level will be held in the Republic of Dagestan. It is a great honor and a great responsibility for us. We are deeply grateful to the Russian Weightlifting Federation for their trust and for the fact that we have been entrusted with holding these prestigious competitions. We are doing everything possible to ensure that these competitions are held at a high organizational level, become a real celebration of weightlifting and leave participants and guests with the warmest impressions of Dagestan."

According to the head of the regional federation, the key task of the organizers was to create comfortable conditions for athletes.:

"The training sessions will be organized directly in the competition arena. In addition to the main platform and the warm—up area, there will also be a full-fledged training area," said Said Abdulayev. "This will allow athletes and coaches to keep fit and prepare for the stage in a convenient way, without wasting time on moving around."

The opening ceremony of the tournament will take place on March 24 at 14:00.
