Russian goalkeeper Bobrovsky played 53 dry matches in the NHL championships

Sergei Bobrovsky, the Russian goalkeeper of the Florida Panthers hockey club, played 53 dry matches of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season. Thanks to him, the team defeated HC Edmond Oilers 4-0 on March 20.

Bobrovsky blocked 21 shots from his opponents. The 37-year-old Russian athlete was recognized as the second star of the match.

Bobrovsky became the third goalkeeper in Florida's history to score 20 shutouts. Ahead of him are Czech Tomasz Vokoun with 26 shutouts and Canadian Roberto Luongo with 38, Sport-Express reported with reference to the NHL press service.

Bobrovsky set a new record among Russian goalkeepers on March 18, becoming the first in the number of matches played in the NHL championship matches. On the night of Wednesday, March 18, he played his 800th match, overtaking Nikolai Khabibulin (799).
