Colombian President Gustavo Petro has signed a law against mercenaries. This was announced by the deputy from the ruling coalition "Historical Pact" Alejandro Toro on March 19.

"Great news! President Gustavo Petro signed Law 2569 of March 17, 2026, prohibiting the use of Colombian mercenaries," the deputy said on the social network page X (ex. Twitter).
