The case of the death of two men under the wheels of a car in Gdov was brought to court

In the Pskov region, the investigation of the criminal case of a car hitting three men has been completed, two of whom died and one was seriously injured. According to the joint press service of the courts of the region, the Gdovsky District Court began considering the case on March 19.

The hit-and-run occurred on the night of January 19, 2025 on Pechatnikova Street in Gdov. The driver of a Skoda car born in 2003 hit a 39-year-old, 33-year-old and 29-year-old man, and then fled.

Two pedestrians died at the scene. The third man was hospitalized in serious condition.

According to the Pskov news feed, the 23-year-old motorist is accused of violating traffic regulations, which negligently caused the death of two persons, associated with leaving the place of its commission (paragraph "b" of Part 6 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), as well as leaving the victim in a life-threatening condition without assistance (Article 125 THE Criminal Code OF THE Russian Federation).

During the first court session, the young man himself pleaded guilty to leaving a person in danger, but refused to plead guilty under the most serious article. The trial was postponed until April 6.

According to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, under the article on traffic violations, a motorist faces from eight to 15 years in prison. The maximum penalty under the article on leaving in danger provides for up to one year in prison, the minimum is a fine.
