Putin awarded the Paralympians who won 12 medals in Italy in the Kremlin.

On March 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Kremlin with participants of the Paralympic Games in Italy and presented them with state awards.

"I am sincerely glad to congratulate you, our Russian national team, on a truly incredible performance," the head of state said at the ceremony.

Putin noted that thanks to the success of the athletes, the Russian flag and anthem have triumphantly returned to the international sports arena.

"You have clearly demonstrated to Russia and the whole world who truly corresponds to the lofty mission of a Paralympic athlete, and the mission and slogan is known to everyone — to inspire and delight the world. That's exactly what you did," the president stressed.

The Head of State added that the mentors of the athletes confirmed the high level of the national coaching school. The Russians were sincerely happy about the achievements of the Paralympians, Putin stressed.
