Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, who was injured in the terrorist attack, is on the mend. This was announced on March 19 by Alexander Bortnikov, Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) and Director of the FSB of the Russian Federation.

"He's fine, he's recovering, God bless him. Everything will be fine," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

Bortnikov also said that the protection of figures of Alekseev's level will be strengthened.

The assassination attempt on Alekseev took place on February 6 in Moscow. The victim was hospitalized. The next day, February 7, the general regained consciousness. Criminal cases have been opened into the incident.

The participants in the assassination attempt, Lubomir Korba and Viktor Vasin, pleaded guilty to the crime on February 9, and Pavel Vasin, a third person involved, was detained the next day. According to the FSB of the Russian Federation, Korba was trained at a shooting range in Kiev.

Igor Kostyukov, a member of the Russian delegation and head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff, said on March 8 that during negotiations with the Ukrainian side, a question was harshly asked about the assassination attempt on Alekseev.
