The Iranian Air Force shot down an American F-35 fighter jet, and the plane was "seriously" damaged, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on March 19.

Bloomberg, citing a Pentagon report on March 15, reported that attempts by the US military to develop an update for the software of the F-35 fighter jets had "stalled" despite the need for modernization due to the conflict in Iran.
