In the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), two employees of the Novorossiya Railways company were killed as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on March 19 by the Federal Agency for Railway Transport.
"As a result of the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, workers of the Volnovakha locomotive depot, Maxim Alexandrovich Chelgiy, a locomotive engineer, and Alexander Alexandrovich Lisovin, an assistant locomotive engineer, died on the spot. They were 40 and 35 years old," says the MACH messenger.
Both of the dead railroad workers had minor children. The agency's management expressed deep condolences to the families, relatives and colleagues of the victims, calling their deaths an irreparable loss.
The department stressed that the deceased depot workers will be presented with state awards. It was also decided to provide financial assistance to the families and children of railway workers.
On the same day, private residential buildings were significantly damaged in the Kievsky district of Donetsk after a strike by two unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Czech-made FP-1 aircraft type. One of the buildings has a damaged roof and a wall with a window on the second floor. A deep crater formed in the ground next to the house. The fragments of the drones will be seized and sent for examination.
