The FSB announced increased protection of figures at the level of General Alekseev

The protection of figures at the level of First Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation Vladimir Alekseev will be strengthened. This was announced on March 19 by Alexander Bortnikov, Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorist Committee (NAC) and Director of the FSB of Russia.

"Of course it will, yes," Bortnikov replied when asked about improving the safety of figures at Alekseev's level. The words of the head of the FSB are quoted by TASS.

Bortnikov also noted that Alekseev is on the mend and wished the general good health.

Igor Kostyukov, a member of the Russian delegation and head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff, said on March 8 that during negotiations with the Ukrainian side, a question was harshly asked about the assassination attempt on Alekseev. The head of the GRU did not say what response was received.

The assassination attempt on Alekseev took place on February 6 in Moscow. The victim was hospitalized. The next day, February 7, the general regained consciousness. Criminal cases have been opened into the incident.

The participants in the assassination attempt, Lubomir Korba and Viktor Vasin, pleaded guilty to the crime on February 9, and Pavel Vasin, a third person involved, was detained the next day. According to the FSB of the Russian Federation, Korba was trained at a shooting range in Kiev.
