- Putin attended a meeting of the Board of the Prosecutor General's Office. The main thing
On March 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed a meeting of the Board of the Prosecutor General's Office. The Head of state paid great attention to the areas of prosecutors' work. The main statements of the Russian leader are in the material of Izvestia.
About the work of the Prosecutor General's Office
During the meeting, the Russian President said that in 2025, 7.7 million people applied to the prosecutor's office. He also pointed out the importance of maintaining and developing all the positive trends achieved by the department in recent years. Putin added that for this it is necessary to solve traditional tasks and keep in mind the peculiarities of today.
"The tasks of the prosecutor's office are very significant, big, and important for the country from year to year," the Russian leader said.
He noted that, as before, the human rights work of prosecutors remains the most in demand among citizens, which means that by means of prosecutorial supervision it is necessary to achieve better and more consistent solutions to people's vital problems, the unconditional realization of their constitutional rights and freedoms.
"Protection of labor and social rights is among the priority areas. We must continue to urgently restore justice in cases of wage arrears, seek legally required payments to employees and compensation for the damage caused," the head of state said.
The President added that along with supervisory activities, the most important task of prosecutors remains the qualified maintenance of state prosecution.
"This contributes to the adoption of sound judicial decisions that comply with the principles of legality, justice and humanity," the head of state said.
Putin pointed out that the responsible task of the prosecutor's office is to coordinate the activities of law enforcement agencies in the fight against crime.
"It is important to step up efforts to prevent illegal acts, especially among children and adolescents," he said.
ABOUT YOUR
During the meeting, the President drew the attention of those present to the fact that the most serious attention should be paid to the problems faced by participants in the special military operation and their family members. He added that the entire system of assistance to the participants of the SVO and their loved ones should be transparent, understandable and accessible.
"Employees of the military prosecutor's office make a significant contribution to this work. I hope that military prosecutors will continue to pay increased attention to this important area and, of course, contribute to strengthening law and order in the army," Putin said.
The President also stressed that neither the official position of anyone, nor the status, nor previous achievements can be an excuse for violating the law, causing damage to the state, violating the rights and legitimate interests of other citizens.
About the border areas
The Russian leader noted that in recent years, a number of significant decisions have been taken to support citizens of Russia's border regions who lost their homes and property as a result of the attacks by the Kiev regime.
"We need to closely monitor how compensation and payments are allocated. I would like to emphasize once again that all victims should receive their funds in a timely and complete manner," Putin said.
On the fight against corruption
Putin pointed out that much has been done by the prosecutor's office to increase the fight against crime and corruption. Nevertheless, the number of corruption-related crimes increased by 12.3% last year, the president said. He added that the work of the prosecutor's office to identify the property and sources of criminal proceeds of corrupt officials is no less important.
"Our citizens are counting on the prosecutor's office to increase the effectiveness of the fight against corruption... The main focus should be on protecting budget funds," Putin said.
On the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs
During the meeting, the President drew attention to the fact that increased demands are being placed today on the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs and all participants in economic activity.
"I would like to note that last year the supervisory authorities switched to risk-based approaches. And in cases where there were no risks, they were limited to preventive measures, thereby significantly reducing the number of inspections, which often slowed down the work of enterprises. Now we need to analyze in detail and comprehensively the results of this approach and further remove excessive administrative barriers that hinder business," Putin said.
About extremism
"The issues of combating extremism and terrorism should be in the field of your constant attention. I have already noted that the number of terrorist crimes increased significantly last year," Putin said.
