- The ex-Bridgestone plant in Russia has produced more than 1 million tires after the restart
The Gislaved tire factory in Ulyanovsk (formerly the Bridgestone factory) produced 1.2 million tires by the end of 2025 and mastered 148 unique standard sizes in two brands — Gislaved and Cordiant. This is stated in the message of the Cordiant holding, which was received by Izvestia on March 19.
The company stated that they are working on expanding the model range and launching new standard sizes. Currently, the plant produces summer models Gislaved ActiveControl and EcoControl, as well as Cordiant Run Tour, and winter models Gislaved SpikeControl and Cordiant Sno-Max 7000.
Commercial production at the plant was launched in 2016. Until December 2023, he was the Russian asset of the Japanese premium tire manufacturer Bridgestone. In March 2025, the plant was restarted after almost three years of downtime and a change of ownership.
Earlier, on March 17, two lines of new summer tires, ActiveControl and EcoControl, debuted in Russia under the Gislaved brand. Both models were created using the experience and technologies of Continental and Bridgestone companies. The tires are manufactured at plants in Kaluga and Ulyanovsk. On February 25, the company unveiled a new studded Gislaved One W winter tire for passenger cars and crossovers.
