The number of Chinese cars imported into Russia since 2022 has been calculated

From March 2022 to February 2026, 2.25 million passenger cars produced in China were imported to Russia. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on March 19.

Of this number, 2 million units account for passenger cars, and about 250 thousand for light commercial vehicles. Among the latter, Sitrak, Shacman and FAW have become the most popular brands.

The Chery brand became the leader in passenger car imports (345.1 thousand units), followed by Geely (301.2 thousand units) and Changan (237.9 thousand units), Haval and Omoda joined the top five. Toyota ranks first among non-Chinese brands (52.6 thousand units), followed by Volkswagen and Mazda. The most popular imported model was the Geely Monjaro crossover (117 thousand units), followed by the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro Max, Omoda C5, Chery Tiggo 4 and Haval M6.

In the segment of used cars (older than 3 years), 112.3 thousand cars have been imported into the country since that period. Toyota, Volkswagen, Honda, Geely and Audi cars were most often supplied. The Toyota Corolla and RAV4, the Honda Breeze, the Volkswagen Golf and the Audi Q3 were the best sellers in the model ranking.

In February, Tenet replaced Chery, and Mazda and Toyota showed impressive growth in popularity.

Earlier, on March 17, it was reported that sales of domestic cars in the Russian market outstripped sales of Chinese cars for the first time in three years, starting in March 2023. Thus, by the end of February 2026, 31.6 thousand new passenger cars of domestic brands were sold in the Russian Federation. The February Chinese result was 31.1 thousand units.
