Russia's international reserves increased by $1 billion in a week as of March 13. Now they amount to $803.2 billion. This was announced on March 19 by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
"As of the end of the day on March 13, 2026, international reserves amounted to $803.2 billion, having increased by $1.0 billion, or 0.1%, over the week, mainly due to a positive revaluation," the website says.
Prior to that, reserves amounted to $802.2 billion, having decreased by $8.9 billion from March 6 to March 13 due to negative revaluation. At the same time, gold reserves exceeded $400 billion on March 6 for the first time in history. Their share in the structure of international reserves increased to 48.3%, which was the highest since January 1995.
On February 11, Rustem Mardanov, head of the Central Directorate of the Bank of Russia for the Central Federal District, said that Russia's gold and foreign exchange reserves are stored inside the country, in special vaults of the Central Bank. Mardanov did not disclose specifics about the storage locations, citing the need for financial security.
