The expert spoke about the risks for buyers with installments over 50 thousand rubles.

From April 1, 2026, installments of over 50 thousand rubles in Russia will be reflected in the credit history. Vadim Krapp, a leading analyst at the Expert RA agency, told Izvestia about this.

He also warned that service operators will no longer be able to conclude contracts with customers without transferring data to the Credit History Bureau (BCI) if a person's total debt exceeds the established limit.

"The operator of the installment payment service cannot conclude an agreement with the client without transmitting information to the Credit History Bureau if the amount owed under all agreements exceeds 50 thousand rubles in total," Krapp explained.

As Yuri Vorobyov, partner of the Pepelyaev Group law firm, told Izvestia, not only large, but also small installments issued by one operator will be summed up. If the total debt on them exceeds the threshold of 50 thousand rubles, information about the citizen's obligations will get into the BCI.

"For example, two contracts are concluded sequentially: in one contract, the cost of services is 30 thousand rubles, and in the other — 40 thousand rubles. If by the time the second agreement is concluded, the debt under the first one will be partially repaid and will amount to less than 10 thousand rubles (that is, the total debt will amount to less than 50 thousand rubles), the information will not be transmitted to the BCI. If the total amount of debt exceeds 50 thousand rubles, the information will have to be transmitted," the expert gave an example.
