RSA reported an increase in the average cost of auto parts by 2.9%
The average cost of auto parts in the directory compiled by the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), which entered into force on March 19 this year, increased by an average of 2.9% compared to the previous version from December last year. This is stated in the message of the RSA, which was received by Izvestia on March 19.
Based on the data in the reference book, the cost of CTP repairs is calculated. The RSA stated that its new version shows a tendency to increase prices, but the dynamics differ markedly depending on the car brands.
Thus, prices for BMW (+6.2%) and Ford (+5.2%) brands showed a noticeable increase. Such common brands as Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Kia and Hyundai are slightly below the general trend, the growth in these spare parts is in the range of 1.2 — 2.8%, the union estimates. There is no reduction in prices for spare parts for any of the popular car brands, including Chinese brands, they said.
According to RSA President Yevgeny Ufimtsev, despite the increase in prices for spare parts and the tendency to increase the average payout, insurers "generally manage to contain the growth of CTP premiums."
On March 17, the Bank of Russia proposed to change the rules for determining repair costs for CTP, taking into account the market situation. Thus, when calculating the average cost of a spare part, the prices of its analogues will not be taken into account if they are 70% cheaper than the original (now this threshold is 80%). The average cost of consumables will be calculated at market prices, excluding discounts. It is expected that as a result of such changes, the average CTP payment will increase by 9%, the Central Bank said.
