In the Amur region, the Mazanovsky district Court ordered the local administration to pay compensation for moral damage to a nine-year-old child who was bitten by an unattended Husky dog. The amount of compensation is 40 thousand rubles.

The dog's attack on the boy took place in April 2025 in the village of Novokiyevka. The dog bit through his cheek and shoulder.

Doctors classified the injuries as minor harm to health, but the child still had scars. Besides, there was still the fear of dogs. The victim's mother told the court about this. The woman contacted the local administration several times, but to no avail.

It was proved in court that the incident occurred due to the inaction of the municipality. According to PriamurMedia news agency, with reference to the press service of the regional courts, the conclusion of contracts and the development of programs do not prove that the duties are fully fulfilled if the safety of citizens is not ensured.

In addition, the guilt of the parents or the illegal actions of the child has not been proven.

The Mazanovsky municipal district must pay compensation in favor of the minor at the expense of the treasury.

Earlier it was reported that in Yakutia, a criminal case was opened against the Neryungri administration after a pack of stray dogs attacked a woman. During an inspection by the prosecutor's office, it turned out that the authorities had failed to capture stray animals, which led to the attack.
