Politico has learned about the EU's plans to punish Hungary over a loan to Ukraine
The European Union (EU) is preparing for retaliatory measures and a possible lawsuit against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban over the blocking of €90 billion for Ukraine. Politico newspaper wrote about this on March 19 with reference to EU diplomats.
By threatening to block a €90 billion loan for Ukraine, which he approved in December, at a meeting of EU leaders in Brussels, Orban crossed a red line in opposition to Brussels. Thus, he is preparing himself for a reckoning with the bloc, which may come soon after the Hungarian elections," the publication says.
