Galatasaray players Lang and Osimhen were seriously injured in the Champions League match.

Two players of Galatasaray FC, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and Dutch midfielder Noah Lang, injured their hands during the second leg of the 1/8 Champions League final against Liverpool FC. This was announced on March 19 in the press service of the Turkish club.

"Osimhen, who was hit on the arm in the first half <...> was not involved in the second half of the match due to the risk of a broken arm. <...> U <...> Noah Lang, who was injured in the second half of the same match, suffered a serious cut on his right thumb," a statement on X (ex. Twitter).

The first player was sent to a medical facility, where an examination revealed a fracture of his right forearm, the second is preparing for surgery in Liverpool.

Osmihen was injured early in the match as a result of a riding match with Liverpool player Ibrahima Konate. As specified by "Gazeta.En", Lang accidentally crashed into an advertising billboard, which pinched his finger between the railings and the podium. The game ended with a score of 4:0 in favor of the English team.

Goalkeeper of the French FC Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), Russian Matvey Safonov, also suffered a broken arm on December 19, 2025. The incident occurred during the Intercontinental Cup final. The injury forced the player out for a month.
