The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned about fraud under the pretext of updating the communication agreement

The scammers pose as telecom operators and assure Russians of the need to update the contract. This was announced on March 19 by the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

It is noted that scammers for the theft of personal data and funds of citizens offer an update of the contract with the operator and ask them to name the code from the messages.

"Our advice in such cases is to just hang up the phone. And if you feel guilty that you were not allowed to finish, call back to the official number of the organization," the Interior Ministry advised in the MAX messenger channel.

The day before, the Interior Ministry warned that fraudsters, disguised as official services, began sending phishing notifications to Russians with links to bots in messengers. The agency recalled that real notices of housing and communal services come only through official channels and if the citizen has given his consent to this.
