Four suspects were detained in Novosibirsk and Irkutsk for founding and maintaining a fraudulent call center created from 1.5 thousand SIM cards and three SIM boxes. This was announced on March 19 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"Four suspects have been detained for illegally using subscriber terminals for passing traffic, through which phone calls and SMS messages were sent to gain access to personal data of citizens of the Russian Federation for the purpose of stealing funds," she wrote on the MAX messenger channel.

The attackers are accused of illegally using a subscriber's traffic terminal or a virtual telephone exchange (Part 2 of Article 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The preliminary investigation is still ongoing.

On March 16, two 19-year-old young men were detained in Moscow, who were engaged in servicing fraudulent call centers, providing communication between intruders and potential victims. The young people, as it turned out later, living on Berezovaya Alley Street, received 200 new SIM cards from their supervisors every day, and also kept three GSM gateways and SIM boxes.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
