American actor Sean Penn held a meeting with the personnel of the 157th separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on March 18 by the press service of the department in the Telegram channel.

At the beginning of 2026, this Ukrainian unit suffered heavy losses and was defeated in the Kharkiv region.

"Sean Penn, having missed the Oscar ceremony and arrived in Ukraine, had the opportunity to personally visit the combat unit of the 157th separate mechanized brigade, which performs combat missions in the Donetsk direction," the statement said.
