A funeral ceremony was held in Tehran in connection with the funeral of senior Iranian political and military figures who died as a result of attacks by the United States and Israel. Ahmad Bahrani, a correspondent for Al Mayadeen TV channel, told Izvestia about the event on March 19.

On this day, the people of Iran gathered in the city center to send off Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Larijani, commander of the Basij militia Brigadier General Gholamreza Soleimani, as well as the Iranian servicemen who died aboard the frigate IRIS Dena.

"We are not afraid of the enemy and we are not afraid of death. This country has survived thanks to the blood of the martyrs and will continue to stand," said one of the funeral visitors.

Other participants in the ceremony also said that Iran will stand, and new, equally outstanding figures will replace the dead.

On March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences over the death of Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani. He called Larijani a friend of Russia, noting his wisdom and foresight as a politician.

A day earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced the destruction of Larijani. It is known that as a result of the strike, the deputy commander of the Iranian volunteer paramilitary group Basij and other high-ranking representatives of this movement were also killed.
