Lake Irgen in Transbaikalia was cleared of abandoned nets

In the Trans-Baikal Territory, more than 100 meters of illegally installed and abandoned fishing nets were removed from Lake Irgen. This was reported by GTRK Chita on Wednesday, March 18.

The inspectors promptly dismantled and seized the prohibited gear. Thanks to their actions, it was possible to free a significant part of the live fish, which was immediately released into the lake.

Fishermen face strict administrative liability for using prohibited fishing methods. According to the ChitaMedia news agency, fines can reach 500 thousand rubles.

The reservoir is located on the territory of the Ivano-Arakhleisky Nature Park, at a distance of 60 km from Chita. It is a popular place for catching crucian carp, roach, perch and pike.
