Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed his deep condolences over the death of Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani. This was announced on March 18 by the Iranian State Television (IRIB).

It is noted that Putin, in a letter to the supreme leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, called Larijani a friend of Russia.
