On March 20, the Great Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic will host a performance by the leading soloists of the St. Petersburg House of Music, Ekaterina Dvoretskaya, Lev Zhuravsky and Ravil Islyamov, led by People's Artist of Russia Sergei Roldugin.
The event will feature a harp concerto by composer Reinhold Glier, a clarinet concerto by French composer Jean Francais, as well as a violin concerto by composer and orchestra conductor Aram Khachaturian. The performances will be held as part of a special subscription "Philharmonic and House of Music" and will be timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the House of Music.
"The St. Petersburg House of Music was established on February 3, 2006 on the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The main task of the House of Music is to develop classical musical art, preserve performing traditions, and prepare successful young Russian soloists aged 16-30 to perform at international competitions, and promote them in Russia and around the world," the organizers said.
