The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) destroyed a 12-storey apartment building in the Bashura district of Beirut. Footage of the aftermath of the March 18 strike was provided to Izvestia by the Al Mayadeen TV channel.

"This is all that's left of the 12-storey building where dozens of families lived. Some of them are migrants from the suburbs and from the south of Lebanon, who moved here in search of safety," the channel's correspondent Abd Al-Sabbah reports.

He said that the area is densely populated and is known for buildings located close to each other. The destruction was the result of the third strike on Beirut in less than six hours. In addition, this is the ninth strike since the start of the Israeli operation, which began on March 2.

On the same day, the IDF announced that it had begun attacking targets of the Shiite organization Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

On March 16, the Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that the death toll from Israeli strikes in Lebanon had increased to 886 people since March 2, and 2,141 people had been injured. It was noted that the attacks also affected health sector employees. As a result of the Israeli strikes, at least 38 medical workers were killed and 69 injured.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
