Court arrests Kuban Health Minister Filippov in fraud case

The Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar has chosen a measure of restraint and arrested the Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory Evgeny Filippov. This was reported on March 18 in the joint press service of the courts of the region.

"From November 2015 to December 2025, Filippov committed embezzlement of funds allocated from the budget of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the amount of 7,517,026.23 million rubles, which he disposed of at his discretion," the Telegram channel said.

The Minister is accused of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud on an especially large scale"). He was detained for a period of two months — until May 17, 2026.

She has served as the head of the Ministry of Culture of the region since 2012.

The day before, a source from Izvestia reported that employees of the FSB department of Russia had detained Filippov. Later, the minister and his close relatives were found to have real estate worth 1 billion rubles.
