The Russian Foreign Ministry called the US and Israeli strike on the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran irresponsible.

Russia strongly condemns the attack by the United States and Israel on the Bushehr nuclear power plant and warns against the consequences of a strike on nuclear infrastructure facilities. This was announced on March 18 during a briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.

"We strongly condemn the irresponsible and absolutely unacceptable missile strike carried out on the inner perimeter of the Bushehr NPP, just a few meters from the operating power unit. Tel Aviv and Washington must abandon reckless attacks on nuclear infrastructure facilities, which pose real risks of a catastrophe on the scale of the entire region," Zakharova said.

She added that the Russian Foreign Ministry expects unequivocal condemnation from the IAEA, sane members of the international community and the Persian Gulf countries for this "egregious" strike.
