The fact that Ukraine is turning into a global center of the black arms trade threatens global security. This was announced on March 18 at a weekly briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova.

"Ukraine is rapidly turning into the largest international hub of arms leakage, but what is there leakage — trade, illegal black arms trafficking, which creates serious risks to global security," Zakharova said.

Citing data from the American Institute for the Study of War, she added that every third machine gun in the hands of terrorists and extremists around the world is of Ukrainian origin. For example, one of Mexico's drug cartels is 70% equipped with weapons designed for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

Zakharova said on February 12 that the Ukrainian authorities were training terrorists in Africa, as well as supplying them with weapons and drones, and the security situation there was gradually deteriorating. She added that the African continent is suffering from the fact that the West is uncontrollably pumping Western weapons into Ukraine. From there, it gets to militants all over Africa through black markets.

In September last year, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine had agreed to sell its surplus weapons produced for the country's armed forces to a number of African states. He stressed that all transactions will be strictly controlled, and the funds received will be used to provide the Ukrainian army.
