The head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, has opened a criminal case against three former judges from the Stavropol Territory. This was announced on March 18 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.
The criminal case was initiated with the consent of the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation. We are talking about Mikhail Khripunov, deputy chairman of the Stavropol Regional Court, retired, Timur Nabokov, ex-judge of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Stavropol, as well as Artyom Sergeev, former deputy chairman of the Nevinnomyssk City Court.
According to the investigation, former judges Sergeev and Nabokov offered bribes of 1 million and 3 million rubles to Khripunov as intermediaries. The reward was intended for changing the preventive measure for two defendants.
In addition, Nabokov received 50 thousand rubles for making a decision on the satisfaction of the claim for debt collection. Also, Khripunov, through intermediaries, took 500 thousand rubles for assistance in upholding the judicial act in a civil case.
"The illegal activities of Khripunov, Nabokov and Sergeev have been identified by the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Stavropol Territory," Petrenko is quoted as saying on the UK's MAX channel.
On February 27, the Higher Qualification Board of Judges agreed to initiate criminal proceedings against two judges from Dagestan and Ingushetia. Retired Dagestani judge Sultan Azizov is suspected of accepting a bribe. In addition, a criminal case has been opened against Hamid Murzabekov (Part 1 of Article 305 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
