On March 18, the Commission of the Human Rights Council under Russian President Vladimir Putin appealed to the organizing committee of the Academy Awards and UNESCO with a demand to verify the observance of the rights of minors during the production of the film "Mr. Nobody against Putin," which was awarded in the Best Documentary category.

"The Permanent Commission of the Human Rights Council for International Cooperation in the Field of Human Rights has appealed to the organizing Committee of the Oscar Film Award and UNESCO Secretary General Khaled al-Anani in connection with the violation of the rights of minors during the production and distribution of the documentary Mr. Nobody Against Putin," the Telegram message says -the HRC channel.

In its request, the commission expressed concern about violations of the rights of minors, as the film used video footage shot in an educational institution in Russia without obtaining the consent of parents or legal representatives of children.

It is noted that a significant part of the video content was made during school events, and was used for internal purposes of the educational process. According to the Commission, this violates international standards for the protection of children's rights and the ethical principles of using images of children.

The Commission also stressed that it was important to conduct an investigation into the observance of children's rights in order to find out whether all the necessary consents had been obtained for the use of images of children in the film. In case of their absence, the issue of the film's compliance with the ethical and legal standards applied by the Academy when awarding awards is being considered.

On March 16, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the victory of the film "Mr. Nobody against Putin" in the Oscar nomination for Best documentary. He also clarified that he had not watched the film.
