Over the past day, 192 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 11 people were killed and 244 injured. Eight of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on March 18 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 81 accidents, 36 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 45 outside their area of operation, three pedestrians were killed, and 84 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 14 underage pedestrians, half of whom were injured when crossing the roadway in designated places, that is, due to the fault of drivers or their own carelessness.

There were also 22 accidents involving minors, in which 25 young road users, including 10 passengers, were injured. There are no dead children.

In addition, temporary restrictions or traffic closures were introduced in some regions of the country due to adverse weather conditions. For example, in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, traffic on the A-164 "Transcam" section of the federal highway from 65 km to 94 km from the village of Buron to the northern portal of the Roki tunnel was temporarily stopped overnight due to worsening weather in South Ossetia. Currently, traffic has resumed.

For more than a day in the same region, due to the deterioration of weather conditions in the adjacent territory, there was a traffic restriction for trucks on the federal highway A-161 Vladikavkaz — Nizhny Lars — border with the Republic of Georgia in the direction of departure from Russia. The restriction has been lifted since yesterday afternoon.
