Lada Azimut crossover will receive Euro-6 engines
Lada Azimut crossover engines have been tested for compliance with the Euro-6 environmental standard. The complex of tests was carried out in preparation for obtaining Vehicle Type Approval, AvtoVAZ said in a statement received by Izvestia on March 18.
The Euro-6 standard is characterized by increased requirements for conducting tests. The tests are carried out at both positive and negative temperatures in the climate chamber.

Tests and fine-tuning of the Azimut engine toxicity reduction system were carried out at the new stand of the AvtoVAZ Scientific and technical center. It consists of a dynamometer stand and a climate chamber that creates the necessary temperature and humidity. The gas analysis system allows you to measure the toxicity of vehicle exhaust gases and suspended particles.
Lada Azimut modifications with a range of upgraded powertrains have been tested: at the start of production, Russian Lada engines with 1.6 liters and 1.8 liters, aggregated with both manual and automatic transmissions, will be installed on the crossover.
Earlier, Lada Iskra was certified for Euro-6 compliance. According to the company, Azimut will become another Lada model that exceeds the current environmental standards in Russia.
The day before, it was reported that AvtoVAZ would allocate commercial vehicles to a separate line of business. The new structure will be called Lada Business. Among other things, it will feature a snowmobile based on the Lada Niva SUV.
