On March 18, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the unpredictability of NATO with the phrase of the controversial heroine Anna Adamovna from the Soviet comedy Pokrovsky Gate.

According to her, members of the North Atlantic Alliance often criticize Russia, describing it with the word "unpredictable." She noted that the association itself is often unpredictable for other countries.

"Do you remember Pokrovsky Gate, when one of the heroines says: "I'm all so unpredictable, huh?" It's the same here!" Zakharova said on Sputnik radio.

She added that NATO is unpredictable not only for other countries, but also for itself. In her opinion, other countries have learned to predict the behavior of the alliance, but sometimes unpredictable decisions are made within the organization.

Zakharova also noted that NATO's aggressive aspirations against Russia continue to expand. She stressed that Moscow had tried all the ways to establish relations with NATO, but it had not brought results.

On March 4, Zakharova noted that NATO is strengthening and increasing its nuclear potential, which it can use in a potential conflict against the Russian Federation. According to her, France's statements about building up its nuclear potential are a hostile step that destabilizes the development of events.
