The Russian Ambassador to Slovakia confirmed his readiness to receive the Fico in Moscow on May 9.

Moscow expresses its readiness to host Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at the Victory Day celebrations in May. This was announced on March 18 by Russian Ambassador Sergey Andreev.

"The Russian side confirmed its readiness to receive Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico <...> to participate in the celebrations on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

On March 15, Fico announced that he was ready to come to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day again. He added that on June 6 he intends to attend a ceremony in Normandy dedicated to thanking the soldiers who entered France in 1944 as part of the opening of the second front.

In January, Fico, recalling his visit to Russia last year, stressed that the countries of the European Union (EU) forbade him to fly over their territories.
