Rosatom reported on the proximity of the strike on the Bushehr NPP to the operating power unit

The attack on the territory of the Bushehr nuclear power plant (NPP) was carried out near the operating power unit. This was announced on March 17 by Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation.

"Today at 18:11 Moscow time, an attack was carried out on the territory adjacent to the metrological service building located at the industrial site of the Bushehr NPP in the immediate vicinity of the operating power unit," Likhachev said.

According to the CEO of Rosatom, this is the first recorded strike on the territory of the nuclear power plant since the beginning of the conflict between the forces of the American-Israeli forces and Iran.

At the moment, according to Likhachev, there are no casualties, a multi-stage evacuation process is underway.

He condemned the attack on the Bushehr nuclear power plant, noting a violation of the rules and principles of international security.

"Our principled position is that firing at existing nuclear power facilities is a blatant disregard for key rules and principles of international security. We categorically condemn what happened and urge the parties to the conflict to make every possible effort to de—escalate the situation in the Bushehr NPP area," Likhachev stressed.
