A resident of Melitopol was sentenced to 20 years for preparing a terrorist attack.
Artem Krasko, a resident of Melitopol, was sentenced to 20 years in a high-security penal colony for preparing a terrorist attack on behalf of the Ukrainian special services. This was reported on March 17 in the Federal Security Service for the Zaporizhia region.
"Krasko, as a member of the terrorist community, had to collect and transfer to the head information about the location of a possible installation of an improvised explosive device in order to further plan a terrorist attack against an employee of the administration of the Zaporizhia region," the report says.
It is noted that he was found guilty of high treason, participation in a terrorist community and the manufacture of a shortened sniper rifle (IED).
According to the investigation, in 2022 Krasko joined a terrorist group, was trained in assembling explosive devices and prepared a place for a terrorist attack. The planned attack was prevented by security officials, and Krasko was detained. It is clarified that the verdict has not yet entered into force.
Alexey Tselishchev, a correspondent for Izvestia, said on November 20 last year that the FSB had prevented a terrorist attack against a high-ranking officer of the Russian Defense Ministry. It was noted that the Ukrainian special services used a new, multi-stage scheme to poison a high-ranking officer of the Ministry of Defense in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
