Kathimerini reported a possible arson on board the US aircraft carrier

The aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford will return to the naval base in Souda on the Greek island of Crete after a fire on board, including to investigate possible arson. This was reported on March 17 by the Greek newspaper Kathimerini.

"A version is being considered that the fire that started in the ship's laundry room could have been deliberately set by crew members in order to complete the mission ahead of schedule, since they have been involved in operations for more than 10 months," the publication says.
