Chinese companies have taken advantage of the easing of U.S. sanctions on the Russian oil sector and resumed energy purchases to stabilize markets amid the war in Iran. This was reported on March 17 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

"The trading divisions of state—owned companies Sinopec and PetroChina this week sent requests to suppliers about a possible purchase of Russian oil, which will be their first such deal since November," the material says.
