Trump has allowed Macron to step down as president in the near future
On March 17, US President Donald Trump announced that French leader Emmanuel Macron would leave the post of head of state "very soon."
At a meeting between the American president and Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin, Trump was asked how he assessed Macron's statement that Paris would not help unblock the Strait of Hormuz.
"He will leave his post very soon, so we'll see," the US president replied.
In addition, Trump expressed disappointment with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer over the lack of assistance in the war in Iran. According to him, the head of the British government was ready to send only two aircraft carriers of the Royal Navy, when there was no danger for these ships anymore.
