The French politician called Ukraine's membership in the EU a threat to the country
If Ukraine joins the European Union (EU), France faces "final doom." This was announced on March 17 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.
"Meanwhile, these madmen are rushing to annex Ukraine to the EU, which would be our final doom!" wrote Filippo on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
In addition, the politician called on France to leave the EU before Ukraine integrates into the bloc. This is how he reacted to Brussels' decision to open technical negotiations on the latest negotiation clusters for Ukraine's European integration.
On the eve of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Taras Kachka said that Germany, Hungary, Italy and Poland declare to the Kiev authorities that the country will be able to join the European Union (EU) only in 10-20 years. He also stressed that in response, the Kiev authorities say that geopolitical circumstances "do not allow these 20 years."
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on February 18 that European countries see Ukraine's unwillingness to join the European Union, but European diplomats hide this. Zakharova commented on the statement by the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Kallas, that the EU is not yet ready to name the dates of Ukraine's accession.
