Two new domestic models of summer tires were presented in Russia

Two lines of new summer tires, ActiveControl and EcoControl, debuted in Russia under the Gislaved brand. Both models were created using the experience and technologies of Continental and Bridgestone companies. The tires are manufactured at plants in Kaluga and Ulyanovsk, according to a statement from the Cordiant holding, which was received by Izvestia on March 17.

During the creation of the Gislaved ActiveControl tire, the specialists of NTC Intair were inspired by the concept and technological solutions of the premium Bridgestone Alenza 001 touring tire. ActiveControl tires are available in 44 standard sizes from 16 to 20 inches.

It is stated that the novelty has shown high results in comparative tests. Thus, the braking distance on wet asphalt of Gislaved ActiveControl tires turned out to be 11% better than the Bridgestone Alenza 001 tire. In the "rearrangement" test on dry asphalt, a crossover with new tires achieved a speed of 86.5 km/h, which is significantly higher than the Bridgestone result (83.9 km/h). In comparison with the Pirelli Cinturato P7X2 and Hankook Ventus Prime tires, the ActiveControl model showed similar results.

As for the Gislaved EcoControl, this tire is designed to achieve high fuel efficiency and service life. The novelty was created in the concept of the Bridgestone Ecopia EP300 model. It is noted that the EcoControl tire has retained all the key advantages of the analog model, and has also received a number of significant changes and improvements, in particular, a 5% reduction in rolling resistance.

According to the results of comparative tests with Ikon Autograph Eco 3 tires, the EcoControl model showed a balanced performance profile, the company said. Eco Control is available in 39 standard sizes from 14 to 19 inches.

The Gislaved summer tire range has now expanded to six models. In addition to the above, it includes PremiumControl, UltraControl, TerraControl and TerraControl ATR tires.
