On Tuesday, March 17, lawyer Stanislav Drobotov named ways to protect himself from fraudsters. He outlined several rules to protect yourself.

He said that first of all, it should be remembered that in conditions of budget deficit, the state cannot afford to hire employees to make calls about discounts. Therefore, you should ask yourself why someone suddenly decided to personally notify you about the benefits.

"Secondly, the provision of any benefits cannot require payment. Thirdly, the initiative to receive benefits always comes from the citizen, the state never imposes any discounts," the expert emphasized in an interview with Lenta.Ru .

The expert noted the fourth point: payment of any duties and taxes is always carried out using official banking details, which can be found in open sources or in the relevant branches of government agencies.

"In addition, communication with government officials does not take place through messengers or any programs. All interaction is carried out through the official website of Gosuslug, or by published phone numbers," Drobotov recalled.

The lawyer also stressed that one-time passwords from "Public Services" are issued automatically and cannot be requested even by government officials themselves, no matter who they introduce themselves by phone.

"There are two simple conclusions from this: any request to transfer money under any pretext is fraud, any request to provide a password from Gosuslug under any pretext is fraud," he concluded.

Earlier that day, Sofya Lukinova, head of the legal department at VMT Consult, told Izvestia that fraud schemes based on emotional pressure and abuse of trust remain among the most common, but victims can return funds through the courts.

In turn, Marina Artyakova, a lawyer at the Moscow Region Law Chamber, said that fraudsters are increasingly appearing on the streets of cities, extorting money under the pretext of urgently helping a child who allegedly suddenly became ill, RT reports.

The attackers are not asking for cash, but for a transfer to a card in order to "get to the hospital." The funds go to the accounts of the drops, and it is no longer possible to contact the applicants after the transaction, writes Life.Ru . In addition, by transferring money at the request of a fraudster, you become a participant in the chain of embezzlement of funds, Artyakova warned.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
