Today, the electric power industry has become a strategic focus worldwide. This was announced on March 17 by the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsivilev.

"Because the electric power industry is now artificial intelligence, data processing centers. The electric power industry is now digital money," he said at the seminar "From megawatts to megabytes: energy as the basis for the development of artificial intelligence."

He added that many things depend on electricity, such as robotics, process automation, transportation, and data centers. The minister stressed that all this is a "continuation of electric energy." He noted that there is more and more transport and electric energy.

A day earlier, the state corporation Rosatom announced that the new power unit of the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant –2 (NPP-2) was brought to 100% of its rated capacity. It is noted that since the first synchronization with the power grid in December 2025, specialists have consistently mastered the reactor plant's capacity from 40 to 100%. During this time, the unit has produced about 570 million kWh of electricity.
