Gref: Sberbank intends to pay record dividends of 853 billion rubles in 2025
Sberbank intends to allocate 853 billion rubles for dividends by the end of 2025, which will be a record figure in its history. This was announced on March 17 by the head of the bank, German Gref, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Last year we updated the record for net profit — 1 trillion 706 billion. Accordingly, we will pay 50% of this amount in dividends — 853 billion. This is also an all—time record," Gref said.
He added that Sberbank has a three-year work strategy. As part of this, the organization has completed its second year of work and achieved its goals, Gref stressed. The head of Sberbank also said that in 2026 the company expects to earn more than last year's profit in order to meet strategic targets.
According to the dividend policy, the bank allocates 50% of net profit according to international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for payments, provided that capital adequacy according to Russian accounting standards (RAS) is at least 13.3%. In 2024, the Savings Bank has already paid a record 786.9 billion rubles.
Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on February 26 that Sberbank was making a significant contribution to the formation of the revenue side of the federal budget. He called the bank's financial results strong and noted that they reflect a "balanced management strategy and a thoughtful business model."
