Russian President Vladimir Putin did everything to prevent a conflict in Ukraine. This was stated on March 17 by Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin during an inspection of an exhibition dedicated to the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation and the 215th anniversary of the law enforcement forces.

He noted that the United States, Great Britain, France and Germany are directly involved in the current situation in Ukraine. According to him, if not for the actions of former US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and his predecessors, as well as the leaders of Germany and the United Kingdom, there would have been no conflict.

"Our president did everything to prevent this," RIA Novosti quoted Volodin as saying.

The chairman of the State Duma pointed out that NATO is involved in military operations against Russia in Ukraine, and foreign countries are financing the conflict. However, the Russian military is not only resisting, but also advancing.

On March 8, Putin recalled that the Ukrainian crisis arose because of the West's support for the coup in Kiev. After him, the Crimean events began, then in the south-east of Ukraine, in the Donbas and Novorossiya as a whole.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on March 16 that Ukraine is the main obstacle in resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
