Reports about the alleged stay of Iran's supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei for medical treatment in Russia are not true. This was stated on March 17 by the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali on the page.

"Today, the news about the transfer of the supreme leader of the revolution to Russia for treatment is a new psychological war," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

He added that Iranian leaders do not need to hide in shelters, because their place is in the streets among the people, and the death of former Ayatollah Ali Khamenei "cancels the magic of psychological warfare and the flow of lies."

On the same day, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Mojtaba Khamenei was fine and would probably make an appeal in the near future. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Esmail Bagai noted that Khamenei's first message had already been heard, and expressed hope for a new appeal to the public soon.

Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth said on March 13 that the US military was aware of Mojtaba Khamenei's injury. According to him, the new supreme leader of Iran was allegedly "wounded and disfigured." The next day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araqchi, denied this information and said that Mojtaba Khamenei was fulfilling his duties and everything was fine with him.
