Tricolor announced the launch of broadcasting from a new satellite at a position of 75 degrees east longitude as part of the Tricolor Federal project. The operator presented the channel plan for the first few months, as well as the transition conditions for subscribers.

The Tricolor Federal project is part of the operator's satellite infrastructure development strategy and allows for stable access to the company's television content and ecosystem services for its customers across the country.

The operator raises the signal for the project from its own teleport, the coverage area of the new satellite includes almost the entire territory of Russia, from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok.

Tricolor began broadcasting at the new orbital position on March 17, and the launch was previously planned for the third quarter of 2026. The accelerated launch of the new service is associated with the failure of the Express-AT1 device, which is why some subscribers have lost their TV signal since March 4. Tricolor promptly took measures to provide subscribers with additional TV viewing opportunities.

In regions where this is technically possible, the company is already actively transferring customers to the Express-AMU1 satellite, the broadcast of TV channels from which has not been interrupted and remains stable. The operator's technical service has further enhanced the energy of the signal on Express-AMU1, which is received by 90% of Tricolor subscribers. The Tricolor Federal project was launched in record time for regions outside the coverage area of this satellite.

At the first stage, 80 TV channels are available to viewers, but in the near future their list will be significantly expanded. The operator also disclosed the terms of service for existing and new customers. The focus is on maximizing the support of current subscribers during the switchover period, as well as on favorable offers for new users.

"We highly value the trust of our customers, 60% of whom have been with us for more than 10 years. Realizing how important it is to provide viewers with constant access to television, the company invested heavily in broadcasting on another satellite. Our priority is taking care of the customer, so we took care of the technical and financial issues to make the transition as comfortable as possible. The main thing for us is that every family can continue to use Tricolor services without interruptions and unnecessary costs," said Oleg Struchkovsky, Tricolor's Commercial Director.

The launch of broadcasting at the new orbital position will allow Tricolor to increase the stability of signal reception in a number of regions, expand its coverage area and scale its business.
