- Putin pointed to the connection between the development of the chemical industry and the technological leadership of the Russian Federation.
Russia's technological leadership depends on bringing the chemical industry to a new level. This was announced on March 17 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the VII International Forum "Resources for Growth. Chemistry for Life: Government and Business".
"I am confident that in order to bring the domestic chemical industry to a qualitatively new level, increase its competitiveness and investment attractiveness, it is necessary to continue to combine the efforts of the state, business, scientific and educational spheres in this area. Russia's technological leadership, its economic and industrial sovereignty largely depend on this," Putin is quoted as saying in a publication on the Kremlin's website.
The Head of State noted that a wide range of issues were being discussed at the forum, including the global technological future of the chemical complex and the problems of manufacturers. According to the president, industry development is determined through open discussions, as well as strategic contracts are concluded.
Putin said on February 25 that biotechnologies in Russia are developing at an unprecedented rate and can help solve the problems of climate change and food shortages. He also stressed that the Russian Federation should occupy a worthy place in the global biotechnology markets.
The IV Forum of Future Technologies ended its work in Moscow on February 27. In accordance with Putin's instructions, the forum was dedicated to the formation of bioeconomics in the country and the use of biotechnologies in economic sectors.
