Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Mateen Kani said on March 17 that Pakistan would soon receive a "crushing response" after an airstrike on a drug treatment center in Kabul.
"Based on the decision of the leadership, a crushing response will be given to Pakistan in the near future," TOLOnews TV channel quoted him as saying in its Telegram channel.
The Afghan Interior Ministry reported that the death toll from Pakistan's strike on Kabul had risen to 408, with at least 265 people injured.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, strongly condemned what he called a violation of Afghanistan's sovereignty. He stressed that the attack on a medical facility where vulnerable patients were treated represents a clear disregard for humanitarian values and internationally recognized rules protecting medical facilities.
Afghanistan's Acting Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Nasir Ahmad Faik, called on the United Nations to conduct a transparent and independent investigation into Pakistan's attack on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul.
On March 16, the Roya News portal reported a series of powerful explosions in Kabul. It was noted that the epicenters were located in the areas of Wazir Akbar Khan and Shahr-e-Nav. Combat aircraft activity was observed, as well as the operation of air defense systems. Later it became known that the rehabilitation center for drug addicts was attacked. As a result of the strike, about 400 people were killed.
On the same day, the Pakistani military attacked military infrastructure facilities in the Afghan capital Kabul and in the province of Nangarhar.
